The Under 12 Girls earned the first silverware of their careers as they soared to success at Weddington Thistle. Twelve months earlier they finished second but went one better on this occasion to the delight of girls, parents and coaches. An extra time winner from Roisin took them to victory over Leicester City Ladies. The girls have an extraordinary record in tournament football having played 20 games and not yet lost in open play.
The Under 11 Girls were also in action at Brinklow in their first ever tournament. More accustomed to 11aside football they were up against mini soccer specialists, but the Red team still prospered reaching the final. In a tight and even contest the girls went down 1-0 to Leamington Hibs.

Birmingham County FA hailed the heroes of grassroots football at its annual awards presentation held in conjunction with the Grass Roots Football Show at the NEC on Saturday 31st May.
A host of characters from Birmingham, the Black Country and Warwickshire were rewarded for their efforts at the ceremony hosted by BBC WM's Jenny Wilkes and attended by guests from local leagues, Community Partners McDonalds and The Football Association.
County FA Charter Standard Awards were won by clubs and individuals who have gone that extra mile to ensure they meet and often exceed the requirements outlined by the kite-marking initiative. Coundon Court FC won the FA Charter Standard Development Club of the Year for the 2nd time in 3 seasons. This was also the clubs 3rd Club of the Year award since their formation in 2002. The award was presented by the FA's own Les Howie to Barry Morris and Richard Seedhouse.
Young Leaders were also honoured. Two young leaders, one male and one female were selected to represent the BCFA in the National Young Leader s' camp later in the year. Callum McDonnell and Tracey Woodley, both members of Coundon Court FC were the chosen coaches.

Callum then went one better with a Football Workforce Award for Young Leader 2008. Overall a very satisfying day for all at Coundon Court who work so hard to ensure that the club stays in the forefront of Grassroots football in the area.

Head Coach Rich Seedhouse launches his first book
'Coaching The Coach'. Rich explained As a Charter Standard Development Club, Coundon Court FC coaches are all qualified to the minimum Level 1 standard. In my role as Football Development Officer I have seen many ex players, keen parents and young sports leaders complete their level 1 coaching award. They all come back fired up, keen to coach and all want to know about the Level 2 award. What are the differences, how can they improve and get to the standard required? We wanted to maintain this enthusiasm and give all our coaches the best chance of passing. So this was the basis for the book, to help, aid and improve all our new coaches”
Coaching The Coach is the only practical guide, which shows how to use drills as the tool to coach players and has received positive comments from established coaches. The book is available online through www.forsport.co.uk the pro-coaching equipment specialists who were delighted to list the book after two copies were sent to them for their professional evaluation. Match of the Day pundit and ex England striker Alan Shearer has even got a copy of the book, which is also available through the online bookstore www.amazon.co.uk and www.tesco.co.uk having a RRP of £8.95.

5 teams crammed into Corley Village hall on Saturday for a fantastic presentation night. Despite the deluge, the bouncy castle was as popular as ever and both boys and girls combined in a massive game of football. We must give a huge thank you to Kevin Thornton for presenting the trophies, particularly at such short notice. We hope he wears the 'other' CCFC socks with pride!
Congratulations to all of the boys and girls who won trophies and we hope you had a great night.
